How do I get hETH?

There are two ways to receive hETH. You can stake ETH on Hord’s platform and receive hETH proportionately to the amount of ETH you’ve staked. Alternatively, you can purchase and trade hETH on DEXs.

Why can't I see my hETH on Metamask?

Users must manually add the hETH token to Metamask.

If you are having trouble viewing your Metamask hETH balance, you may need to add the token to your Metamask as a Custom Token. To do so, access Metamask and press Add Token. Switch to Custom Token and input the values below and press Add Token to confirm.

Hord’s Liquid ETH staking platform supports a wide variety of crypto wallets. Supported wallets include Metamask, Ledger, Trezor, Coinbase Wallet and WalletConnect supported wallets.

To connect your wallet, simply log into Hord’s staking app and select the wallet that you use. You will then need to confirm the connection to Hord. Once you’ve confirmed the connection, your wallet will be successfully connected to Hord and you can begin staking.

How does Hord Staking Work?

The Ethereum network underwent a transition known as "The Merge" on September 6th, 2022, moving from a Proof-of-Work (PoW) to a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) system. Through the Merge, Ethereum's mainnet and the beacon chain were combined.

Users can stake 32 Ethereum in the Proof-of-Stake network in order to run a validator. As an incentive, these validators receive transaction fees for verifying transactions on the network.

The process of staking Ethereum on your own requires some technical expertise, a dedicated computer connected to the internet, and 32 ETH in order to run a node. Staking ETH through dedicated platforms such as Hord or on exchanges may be popular due to the difficulty.
